A pen pot is the most honest place to keep the pens in daily rotation, and this one is turned from a single block of solid walnut rather than glued staves. The bore is wide enough for a generous handful — around a dozen pens — and a wool-felt floor keeps nibs from tapping the bottom.
A thin brass ring is inlaid flush at the lip: it protects the rim, catches the light, and patinas to match brass-trimmed pens. The exterior is finished with hand-rubbed oil and a weighted base keeps it planted even when it's full and leaning.
