Our story

For people who love what they write with

Oupen Holder began with a simple frustration: the pens we treasured were living in a coffee mug, a desk drawer, or rattling loose in a bag — scratched, forgotten, and unprotected.

A small line, made carefully

So we set out to make the opposite of a jar — a tight collection of pieces that hold a pen the way it deserves and look like they belong on a good desk. We began with the three places a collection actually lives: out on the desk, packed for travel, and on display.

We obsess over the details that decide whether something lasts: the splined mitre that keeps a case square as wood moves, the saddle stitch that won't unravel if a loop fails, the brass divider turned from solid bar so it patinas instead of peeling. Nothing flashy — just the difference between a thing you replace and a thing you keep.

We keep the range small on purpose. Three pieces, each one we can stand behind, each one made from materials we're glad to leave in plain sight for the next decade.

What we believe

01

Protect the nib

Every channel and slot is felt-lined or suede-backed. A pen should never touch bare wood, metal, or another pen. That single rule shapes each piece.

02

Honest materials

Solid American walnut, full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, machined brass, wool felt. Materials that age well and are happy left in plain sight.

03

Made to be kept

No veneer, no plastic, no glue where a joint should be. We build the way good stationery is meant to last — to be handed on, not thrown out.
